Our Schools

Done Right Food Services, Inc. is a catering company that serves schools in the greater Twin Cities area. We currently serve approximately 7,000 healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks each school day. Our goal is to provide wholesome school food while teaching a healthy message to students — making it possible for schools to have outstanding food and nutrition programs. We specialize in healthy food, nutrition education, and expert services.

Breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks are provided in accordance with USDA School Nutrition Programs and the appropriate meal pattern requirements. Bag meals, vegetarian options, salad bar, breakfast buffet, etc., can also be provided. Appropriate condiments (dressings, sauces, catsup, etc.) are included. Extra milk, adult meals, styrofoam/plastic, or biodegradable/paper supplies (slotted trays, plates, bowls, eating utensils, napkins, etc.) can be ordered separately. Bulk food and ala carte items (salads, sandwiches, etc.) are available separately through our Special Events catering services. 

All DRF school menus have been certified and are in full compliance with the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act requirements. In addition, DRF follows our Healthy Menu Guidelines when planning menus. Menus are aligned with the intent of local school wellness policies. The guidelines state specific types of healthy foods — such as fresh green leafy salad, raw vegetables, fresh fruit, lean meat/poultry, and skim milk — which are served every day.

Other school menu requests (ethnic foods, etc.) and restrictions (peanut/other nuts/seeds free, etc.) can be accommodated. Nutrition information and food substitutions for students with special dietary needs (allergen list, carbohydrate counts, gluten-free foods, lactose-free milk, etc.) are also available upon request.

We have provided nutrition education as support to our school meal services. DRF’s Education Initiative offered food tastings, demonstrations, classes, kitchen experiences, tours, and staff development opportunities designed to help support educational goals by bringing opportunities for learning about food, nutrition, and health to your school.

In addition, DRF has provided expert consulting assistance, ongoing support, and effective communications in a highly responsive manner to the School regarding their administration of USDA School Nutrition Programs and compliance with government program requirements, as well as school food service operations and management activities. Since 2007, DRF has participated in over 85 USDA audits, with our work ranging from assisting with all government School Nutrition Program administrative requirements to all food service operational requirements.
